About this Service

WHAT IS A LIFEMAP SESSION?

This session is designed to provide you/your child with a greater understanding around your child’s thinking style, unique talents and traits, and life path and purpose from a soulful lens.

As a parent, you may intuitively know your child, but you may not know how they truly think. This information provides valuable insight that leads to improved communication, greater tolerance, increased harmony, and ultimately, more ease and trust in parenting or educating your child.

How to Start

DISCOVERY

A LifeMap Session begins with a consultation call to discuss your child’s needs and determine how to proceed in our work together.

Upon completion of an intake forms, we will schedule two sessions.

INTAKE

Our first 55-minute session includes review of completed forms and documents, current questions and concerns, and what you/your adolescent hopes to gain from an understanding of the LifeMap.

SESSIONS

Our second 55-minute session includes information about your child’s LifeMap and how to apply this information to their current concerns, and overall well-being.

Insight into your child’s behavior and emotions

Kim has been an invaluable gift to our family. She has helped us better understand how our children move through the world and how we relate to each other as a unit.  The ideas that she brings to us and her understanding of how families work together has changed the way we parent and deepened the compassion and love that we have for each other.  We are all on a journey together and Kim has helped us steer in the right direction.  We are beyond grateful!

— Parents of an 11 and 13-year-old

After a long journey of meeting with countless educational therapists and undergoing multiple evaluations and testing, it became clear that we needed a quarterback to help us navigate through the educational system. Kim Southerland, being a mom herself, is empathetic to the struggles of advocating for sensitive children. She helped us devise a comprehensive plan for our daughter. She broke it down into simple steps, and her calm demeanor gave us peace of mind that everything would be just fine. I can’t rave enough about the thorough LifeMap Session she provided on behalf of our daughter. It not only mirrored information from the neuropsychological evaluation, but also provided us with even more insight to understand our daughter on a much deeper level, which is helping her thrive in all areas of life. With Kim’s help, we feel more connected to our child and understand how to advocate for her individual needs. As our daughter said, it’s as if a lightbulb went off for her. She is not only thriving more at school, but she’s confident in knowing who she is.  We loved it so much that we went through the same process for our other two daughters.

—Parent of a 10-year-old

I am thrilled to recommend Kim Southerland and her incredible LifeMaps. As a parent of two amazing neurodivergent sons and a licensed psychologist, I believe that Ms. Southerland is providing parents with a more holistic view of their children.

While Ms. Southerland does not discount the traditional neuropsychological report, she does add significant context to the diagnoses and to your child independently from the report through her LifeMap session. Ms. Southerland’s LifeMaps are a strength based and growth inspiring session filled with helpful, creative and sensible strategies to build on the strengths of your child and “how to’s” for addressing areas that need development. The session is holistic and child centered, with recommendations for parents on how to help their child.

My only sadness is that Ms. Southerland did not offer this service earlier. My sons received this information when they were 18 & 20. I happily shared it with each of them and they were amazed at how factual and spot on they felt it was. They are both using their reports in college with the accommodation offices at their universities to receive more personalized help. I am so grateful for Ms. Southerland for providing these amazing LifeMaps and only wish that every parent could see their child so holistically.
