Parents and Educators

“The giving of love is an education in itself.”

—Eleanor Roosevelt

My spouse and I have completely different parenting styles with our neurodivergent child and it is making our family life challenging. We just can’t seem to get on the same page, and I know it’s having an effect on all of our children.

Our child does well at school and has a lot of friends, but struggles with sleep, going to the crowded place, and often has tics or makes vocal sounds at school that result in his being separated from his classmates. It is affecting his confidence and sense of self.

Our daughter is highly empathic and is a kind and helpful friend to all; however, despite being well-liked, she struggles with feeling like she really fits in with others. She says it’s like she has to “pretend” to be someone she isn’t.

After years of testing, tutors, and outside interventions that never really addressed the real issue, our son now has school refusal, and little trust in adults. Not only has it fractured our relationship, but we are also constantly concerned about his mental health as a result of all of this.

Our child is kind and loving, but struggles with making friends. She doesn’t feel like she fits in and despite trying different schools and other programs, nothing seems to really work. I’m not sure how to help without making it an even bigger issue.

My son constantly says that he can talk to my parents despite their being gone for years. I don’t disbelieve him, but I also have no idea how to talk to him about it. This ability seems to be the tip of the iceberg and I’m not sure how to support him.

Many parents share the following concerns:

My son is a sophomore and struggles with constant anxiety around school and tests. He’s highly intelligent, but his grades don’t reflect his effort or ability. I just want to find a solution that will make it better for everyone.

Our daughter has an IEP and is still struggling to read. We don’t have the resources to pay for private educational therapy and her school wants us to put her on medication for attention even though there is little support for her learning differences.

If you relate to any of the above, I’d love to support you…

Education for Today’s Generation

While our traditional educational system is skilled with scientific investigation, historical knowledge, and recitation of facts, figures, and data, it is primarily designed to educate the mind rather than a child’s whole being.

Today’s generation require a different form of education. One that cultivates their multifaceted capabilities and awareness.

I know how confusing it can be as a parent to support a child with different learning abilities, sensitivities, and misunderstood emotional responses in environments that may not fully appreciate their gifts and needs.

What truly makes a difference in our children’s lives are parents and educators who can understand the incredible insights, gifts, and capabilities they have to share, and who can meet them where they are, and support them for who they are.

HOW IT WORKS

Kim offers parents, educators, and caregivers both private sessions and group courses. Sessions with Kim provide one-on-one attention and guidance to address your specific needs, and may focus on you, your child/student, or a combination of the two.

Every session is energetic in nature and utilizes multidimensional communication to bring forth deep levels of insight and awareness. The goal is to support your own process of integration — a key factor in transforming parent-child relationships — so that you can embody more of your true nature and connect with your child in a meaningful way.

Private sessions may include intuitive guidance, understanding your child’s unique gifts and abilities through a soulful lens, enhanced communication and connection, Light Language energy healing, ancestral and inner child integration, educational consulting, and referrals and resources to aligned professionals.

Group courses provide parents and educators with a safe community along with information and knowledge necessary to support the cognitive, social/emotional, and spiritual needs of today’s generation of children and adolescents.
